Expression of Architecture

This is the final year of architecture learning in architecture department.
I look back on last four years what I realize about architecture from traveling , reading , movie and design assignment. I think we always try to find out the expression of architecture. No matter when we design a building or when we traveling in a city we don't realized. The meaning is that information is the way people learn form environment.That's why we can know we are in Taipei , New York or Hong kong.

But in last ten year , some Architecture has changed their meaning . Architecture don't correspond with environment anymore. It is strange thing for me . Boutiques is a good example in this situation. This kind of building try to let people know the spirit of brand. The expression is the information of product ,not culture or city . We can say that by this boutiques , we can contact with the global values no matter where you are.

So , what is architecture in this age that you can get information as quick as you get rid of it . The power of architecture no longer exist in this fast-changing day . I think it is a good opportunity to redefine what is expression of architecture in my last year of college.

I'll keep thinking by the experience of America and some reading.
